I’m excited to show you TWO RV bedroom makeovers that we have done over the last couple of years complete with all new bedding, wall accents, and more! See how we turned our RV bedroom into a cozy, texture-filled space! There are so many great RV bedroom ideas in this post!
We live full time in our Grand Design Imagine 2670MK travel trailer. This most recent makeover brought so much color and life to our little RV bedroom oasis, all while making it feel more cozy than ever!
Quick note: I’ve listed all of the resources at the bottom of this post!
Before and After the RV Bedroom Makeovers
I don’t know about you, but when we first got our RV, the bedroom wasn’t at the top of my list to decorate. So you can see how far we’ve come, here’s what it looked like the day we purchased our travel trailer!
RV Bedroom Decorating Ideas
Once we were settled and I had the main living area feeling cozy, I set my sights on RV bedroom makeover #1! For the first makeover, I was looking to add texture by way of the bedding and was just wanting to pull the space together with some minimal decor.
I LOVE the color and texture of the duvet cover, and it comes in other REALLY good colors and designs, too! I would absolutely buy this duvet cover again and would have a hard time choosing which color and design I want! I have linked everything at the end of this post as well!
Here’s the cost breakdown of RV bedroom makeover #1:
$48 Duvet Cover
$12 Art
$15 Plant

$75
I know that isn’t very Pinterest worthy, but it was a step in the right direction and a great, cheap first makeover! I’m also positive someone else could’ve figured out how to add more of whatever it needed, but I decided to start looking for other options a year later. With all of the wood in here and the small windows, I realized I still needed to add more color and texture. Before I show you what came next, here’s one last photo of the window wall with the plant and beautiful art.
RV Bedroom Makeover #2
This second version brings this small space to life with the colors, patterns, and texture of the quilt! Matt wanted a more masculine bedroom so I compromised with the deer head pillow.
RV Bedding
We went from a really fluffy duvet + cover to this quilt set which actually gave us more room around the bed (a wonderful, unexpected benefit even if it is only a couple/few inches on each side!). Our duvet was SO cozy and warm and was the perfect weight so when we made the switch to a quilt, we were both hoping it wasn’t a mistake! The quilt has been perfect! The set came with two shams, and I purchased the pillows separately!
I LOVE the gray reading pillows (similar) we have, and I use mine often when sitting in bed to read or get some work done. They’re also great to bring out to the living area to sit on the floor since we only have 2 recliners and the dining table area for seating.
The garland above the bed was actually something I purchased for Christmas decorating last year. The bedroom still wasn’t feeling complete, but I wasn’t sure what else it needed. I was getting our laundry bag from under the bed and saw the bag of garland laying there! I immediately knew where it needed to go! Who needs to do laundry when there’s decorating to do? I love how it adds to the cozy, boho feel.
Adding RV Bedroom Curtains
I’ve secretly wanted to add curtains in here since we added them in the main living area, but I had to tread lightly with projects and introduce ideas slowly. All these years later and still dealing with sticks and bricks project burnout. Haha! We took the valances down and put up these linen-looking, sheer-ish white curtains which REALLY helped cozy it up in here. At only $13 a pair, they felt like a steal!
Last, I balanced out the space above the window with two 8×10 frames of favorite memories of our time on the road together.
Here’s a close up of the linen-look curtains.
So how much did all of this cost? Here’s the cost breakdown of RV bedroom makeover #2:
$125 Quilt Set + Accent Pillows
$20 Picture Frames (8×10 prints were FREE from Shutterfly)
$26 Linen-look Curtains ($13/pair)
$12 Art (By the bed)

$171
I’m not done in here, but don’t tell Matt! I still have a few ideas brewing in my head! I hope you enjoyed these 2 RV bedroom makeovers for under $200! Let’s look at the before and after side by side!
